Dear Elsa Barkely Brown,

First thing first I just want to say Thank you! Thank you for exposing me to this new argument that both white women and black women are interconnected in a way that still reveals the higher dominance of white women. It was interesting to see how White women in a way has shaped African-American women's live from the jobs we have to how people view in society but how we have Black women have not shaped their lives. I also would think you would be somewhat proud that as African-American women we are starting to take back our sexuality and portray it many ways different ways. Take the melanin the movement where as women we are showing the love we for our skin color and the different shapes we have. There is also women like  Teyana Taylor and Beyonce who are open about their sexuality within their marriages that allows the younger generation to see the positive image of our sexuality and how it is not something we need to not hide but something we should explore. Yes, their sexuality is not as open  because it is with their husbands but it is a step in the right direction. It is a step needed in order to break our silence as African-American women and allowing us the chance to show the public image we really want to have.

A Dear Reader,
Tamara Morris
