A Diary Entry from Ladies of the South (RE: Soul Murder and Slavery)

Dear Diary,

We are angry, hopeless, desperate, lonely.  Our husbands are philanderers.  We are not enough, but somehow, the slaves are.  What could a slave offer that we cannot? We are aware that our husbands are the primary sources of this anger, but we cannot help but to resent the slaves as well.  We are envious that they get more attention than we do, and more envious that they are stealing one of the only special parts of our lives. The Lord tells us that our primary role is to please our husbands, but we are constantly reminded that this is out of our capabilities.  Our desperation has led us to take our anger out on the only people that we can under the rules of God--the slave women.  We are searching for direction, searching for meaning, searching for answers. We can only hope that He answers our prayers.
