Midterm Paper Topics

I am interested in researching the history of medicine and how racism limited Black women's access to care and treatment. This may lead to studying the history of experimentation on Black women as well. I also want to explore how Black women empowered themselves and their communities to have some level of control over medical care. Two women who relate to this topic are Rebecca Lee Crumpler and Rebecca Cole, the first and second Black woman physicians in the US.
