Tera Hunter

Dear Tera Hunter,

I found your reading to be very interesting. I loved how you revealed that African-American women our resistance never really ended and how different our freedom is compared to those of our brothers. I never really thought of the fact that as a Black women our freedom means much more because of how much we have to be to society. We are not only workers but are also MOTHERS,FRIENDS,LOVERS, and have MANY other characteristics. We did not have any one really to help to relieve our jobs like white women have. There was no there to help with the children, or the cook the food and clean the house. Yet, we managed to survive and make the best not only for ourselves but for the advancement of our race. I realized though not only your reading but through the readings of many others that there is strength within the black women. As a black women it is in us to put ourselves last in order to make sure that those around us are protected and cared for. Yet, even with this sacrifice we still managed to find ways to protect ourselves from the dangers that surround us because of our bodies and many other factors. We still managed to walk around like we own world and we never gave up. It was this same management and determination that lead to many people envying us. But it was also this same management and determination that still manages to get me through society today.

The Best,
Tamara Morris
