I will be analyzing Violets and Other Tales by Alice Ruth Moor Dunbar-Nelson. The book is a collection of 29 short stories and poems that was published in 1895. The writings address multiple conditions of life for black women. The writings focus on experiences of love, forgiveness, marriage, work, and more for black women in the 19^th century.
